SOLAR 1st Mini Album [容 : FACE] BEHIND
π more turning red fanart! the fact Miriam sang lullabies to Meiβs tamagotchi was so cute to me - I thought their relationship was so sweet π
Watching Turning Red made me realise I’ve never heard periods be talked about in an animated movie before, or even many live action ones. And the fact that it wasn’t just a one-off joke, and that they showed pads onscreen and actually SAID what they were, makes me really happy.
“Many of my movies have strong female leads - brave, self-sufficient girls that don’t think twice about fighting for what they believe in with all their heart. They’ll need a friend, or a supporter, but never a saviour. Any woman is just as capable of being a hero as any man.” -Hayao Miyazaki
Happy International Women’s Day!
Elisa e Marcela is the comic I’ve been working on these past months. It’s the true story about this Galician pairing that married in 1901. What’s particular about these two teachers is that Elisa adopted the identity of Mario, a man, to marry this woman, Marcela. Unfortunately people found out and the case made it to the newspapers, that’s why we know about them today.
It’s a story about love and freedom we thought deserved to be better known, and also my way of celebrating Pride this year. It’s free for you to read, in Galician, through this link. Hope you enjoy it, but above it, hope you are all healthy and well! Happy Pride!
